Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse (www.mackinacparks.com/old-mackinac-point-lighthouse) was erected in 1892 and was active for more than 60 years. The castle-like structure in unique to the Great Lakes. The lighthouse has been restored to its 1910 appearance. The first floor is fully accessible and there are tours up the tower and into the lantern room.
Peninsula Point Lighthouse (www.terrypepper.com/lights/michigan/pointpeninsula/pointpeninsula.htm) is located in the Hiawatha National Forest. The lighthouse was placed in service in 1866 and decommissioned in 1936. A fire destroyed the house in 1959. The tower is left and is located in a public picnic area where you can climb the tower and enjoy the view.
Poe Reef Light
Round Island Lighthouse on Round Island was an active lighthouse from 1894 – 1924.
Sand Point Lighthouse with Maritime Museum is located in Escanaba and was in service from 1868 – 1938.
Seul Choix Point Lighthouse overlooks Lake Michigan and is southeast of Gulliver. The lighthouse is open from Memorial Day to mid-October.
Whitefish Point
